CC Moulton
CC Moulton is a fabric house designing and producing distinct interior textiles from our studio in east London. We couple traditional manufacturing methods with the rich aesthetic history of British weaving, and look at them anew through a contemporary lens.
Our outlook is fancy and refined, charismatic and uncompromising; we produce only the finest quality fabrics, led by our eclectic eye for colour and concept, all underpinned with a love for beautiful interior spaces. We are compelled by glamour and a louche, undone elegance, recontextualised for a present-day home.
From woven ikats to delicate florals and silk sateens, our collection is manufactured by a British mill that specialises in silk weaving, championing traditional craftsmanship from beginning to end. Design elements such as our weaves, patterns and blends are often influenced by the mill’s rich historical archive, but always reinterpreted with one eye on icons of counterculture, and a contemporary character in mind.
CC Moulton was founded in 2024 by Gemma Moulton, a textile designer and the creator of East London Cloth.
Gemma Moulton
Gemma Moulton grew up in Suffolk, in an area that has been at the forefront of British silk weaving for centuries. She fell in love with textile production during a spell working in the couturier department at a local mill, and went on to work in the fashion industry in London.
In 2020 Moulton founded East London Cloth, a company created to make artisan-sourced and bespoke-style textiles accessible to a wider audience, shaped by her practical working knowledge. Soon afterwards, she began a close collaboration with a traditional silk mill, based in her hometown. CC Moulton was born.
“Whilst maintaining a deep respect and paying constant homage to historic weaving processes, our fabrics act also as a personal reminder that the visible textiles of a project should remain a joyful part of the decorating process. I aim to emphasises the convivial, whilst pushing things in a non conventional and almost boisterous manor.”
CC Moulton is named after its founder, Gemma Moulton; the initials ‘CC’ are a tribute to her two young daughters and a beloved family nickname, ‘sissy’.
